Weekly Reflections, Results

Just thought I'd do some reflections on a weekly basis, as the weeks FLY past in March, and ever since Project MOB( as thought of by Shayne) started.

Target: 11000GR each month, 4 new clients each month

Week of 25th Feb - 3rd March : A week of FLIES and disappointment

Appointments fixed: 6 (1O,2C, 4R)
Actual Meetups : 3(1O,1C,2R)
Referrals:  14
Case closed: 1
GR: 330GR

Interesting cases: Prospect, a friend 30mns, supposed to meet on 1st March. Initiated a meetup with me previously for investments but decided later to delay his plan by a year, because he needed to save up money for his house renovation. Has 13000 left from an initial 15000 outlay in a Prudential lump sum investment since 2008. Simply refused to listen to me and look for a more effective investment platform and do some sort of diversification.

Week of 4th - 10th March: Engine starts going, albeit at a slow pace
Appointment fixed: 6 (3O, 0C, 6R)
Actual meetups: 4( 2O, 0C, 4R)
Referrals: 12
Cases closed: 0
GR: 0

Interesting case 1: Client, 27fns, met her on 5th March for review. Found that during review it was a bit hard to find an painspot and an argument to up protection coverage, especially her life stages didn't change, and I only did up her protection coverage last year. Found myself focusing on her investments instead, ended up upping her investment amount from 200 to 400, and changing platform from IFAST to pulsar. Was supposed to be closed on 21st March, but has now been changed to 26th March :( The struggle to find a painspot during reviews was brought up to Shayne during monthly coaching and his advice has been taken up

Interesting Case 2: Client 25Fns, Lawyer, out of nowhere wanted to up her IFAST and do up a savings plan, with as much liquidity involved as possible. Tried to open up My Retirement, but she sees greater importance in keeping her money liquid and not running the risk of missing out on other worthy investments such as property. Case was closed on 13th March.

Week of 11th - 17th March: Engine moves a bit.. faster
Appointments fixed: 7 (3O, 1C, 5R)
Actual meetups:  5 (2Os, 1C, 4Rs)
Referrals: 6
Cases closed: 1
GR: 6455 ( API 10884)

Interesting case 1: Met Prospect, 31FNS, executive, for first meetup and FF. Discovered that her AIA agent hasn't been entirely truthful about his recommendations. Highlighted the potential timebomb effect of her ILP, as well as lack of coverage in certain areas, especially early stage and disability income. Client acknowledged that, set aside an amount in her surplus to patch up her protection portfolio, while opening up $800 budget for investments. Client seems comfortable with an IFAST and Pulsar combination, as she wants to keep surplus as liquid as possible, while keeping in mind our investment strategies. Supposed to close on 26th March, but has now been shifted to the week of 1st April.

Interesting case 2:  Met prospect, 25 FNS, Lawyer for first meetup. Client KEPT talking about the property she just bought, and how she sees value in property and stocks instead of unit trusts and offshore funds. Inside I was thinking, being relatively young and having just started working, how could she have bought property so soon. Asked her about it and it turned out her mum paid the downpayment for her( rolls eyes 1 million times). Turned my focus to insurance, and she said she's paying $2600 a year for Vivolife and she thinks its VERY expensive. Was very annoyed with her at this point, shot her down with questions like " do you intend to repay your mum? If yes how to upkeep if something happens to you, shouldn't you ringfence your earning capability with more coverage? " She thought for awhile and agreed, saying she didn't think of insurance that way. Agreed to FF on 6th April, where I will shoot down her haughtiness again. Also, she mentioned she has a doctor BF, MUST.. GET.. HER.. TO REFERRRRR

Will be doing a weekly update from now onwards, as well as a list of to close cases and projected date and GR.

Some thoughts in general - I am glad to have started the engine running again, seemed like it has been so long since I met and opened new cases with new people, and starting to look at my process and skills again. I am also quite happy with helpful colleagues around me in the focus group, people like Agnes who doesn't have qualms doing her niam-ing, Ian with his awesome Retire plan comparison & unusual cases and markets we don't usually do, Jess with her patience and ever willlingness to listen, and of course my buddy Weiherng, who can always come up with solutions for lots of things.

Gonna be a good year! Make it!
